Partner Emeritus

Janet E. Fortune is a partner emeritus who retired in 2016.  During her career, her practice concentrated in the areas of estate planning and estate administration and probate. Janet was known for her practical approach to problem solving and her ability to construct her client’s final financial picture to reveal and protect, to the greatest extent possible, the full value of their estate.

Prior to joining MendenFreiman, Janet was the in-house trust counsel at Wachovia Bank and was a founding member of the law firm of Becker & Fortune LLP.

In addition to her J.D., she completed extensive graduate level coursework in counseling psychology at the University of Toledo and Georgia State University and found her studies to be of enormous value when working with clients experiencing grief and loss.
