Potential Changes to Federal Tax Laws Should Not Stall Your Planning

MendenFreiman was an Executive Sponsor at the 11th Annual Balser Symposium which took place on Friday, January 27, 2017, at the Georgia Tech Learning Center. Historically, the Balser Symposium for professional advisors focuses on the technical and sophisticated ways that clients can integrate philanthropy into their financial planning.

Per tradition, Erev Balser, a small, casual dinner with attendees, took place the night before the symposium. Georgia State University College of Law Professor, Sam Donaldson, spoke on the proposed changes to the federal tax laws and how clients can prepare for these changes in an uncertain tax environment.

Proposed changes include reductions to the corporate tax rate and partnership tax rate; a simplification of individual income tax brackets; and, perhaps most pressing to the attendees, a repeal of the federal estate tax.
